Chapter Eleven

Who the hell is Taleshia Jones?

“Are you serious Keyshia?” Phonix asked mouth agape.

“Dead serious!” Keyshia replied. “I’m telling you girl! I started talking about not being in love with her man and money instead. Phonix girl, Taleshia just broke down and told me the story about her husband, what happened to her child and the reason she won’t leave him. Silence filled the line. Phonix muffled her sobs. She just couldn’t believe it.

“The damn girl let the eighteen-year-old talk her into reporting her parents to the police and telling the authorities that she killed the embryo in her stomach because her father had impregnated her.”

“My God!” Phonix whispered.

“She was charged with self-mutilation causing serious bodily harm. She was held as a juvenile until she turned eighteen.
